Vanilla Farm in Nakhon Ratchasima
Mr. Adisorn Hunthong (Big) is a botanist and manager of a vanilla plantation in Wang Nam Khiao, Nakhon Ratchasima. His family previously grew flowers like anthuriums and chrysanthemums for over 10 years but faced pest issues. The use of pesticides led to resistance, prompting him to seek alternative crops. Following a teacher’s suggestion, he obtained vanilla seedlings from the Royal Project in Chiang Rai. Initially skeptical about growing vanilla in Thailand, he discovered that the seedlings had a pleasant aroma, inspiring him to shift from flowers to vanilla farming.
“From the soil of challenges grows the fragrance of possibility, vanilla as a symbol of wellness and sustainability.”

“I was concerned about the health risks from continuous pesticide use, so I looked for a high-value, easy-to-manage crop without the need for pesticides. Vanilla perfectly fit these criteria, being easy to care for, propagate, and cost-effective.”
